Cat-woman

Some people just talk too much. In a conversation you can always  identify them because of their leadership and because they have always an opinion about anything. These people always have something to say, and do not hesitate to speak up if someone tries to break down their arguments.
They are the leaders, the public relations of any soiree, in other words, who leads the way. But I've always noticed other kind of people. The silent ones. That kind of personality has always aroused a greater interest on me.
In this collage that I'm presenting below, I have drawn a face with a cat-like profile, because cats are somewhat secretive and cunning, and that's how I think of true wisdom. To me, the real intelligence always acts in silence.
_______________________________________________________

Algunas personas hablan demasiado.

Welcome to the 80's!

As you can see on my previous posts I've been writing about movies, philosophical musings and fashion events, it is time to move on with my creations and designs.
This drawing is a collage of a  fashion magazine cut inspired by the 80's with the picture of the suit made with my own hands.
I hope you enjoy this new collection of collages that I will be presenting you in much of hereafter.

Decisions

Sometimes life is cruel.  Ups and downs. This is all about. Once you reach the top and you feel in peace with yourself and with the others, thus you can say you are HAPPY, all of a sudden you find a wall in your way which makes you fall down again.
Maybe that wall was always there and you didn't perceive it (or you just didn't want to), and when you are force to open your eyes to avoid crashing that wall you feel such an inner sadness that everything turns into darkness and you feel hopeless.
And what it is next is when you have to take a decision. But decisions are always unfair for someone, and always someone is hurt as a result of that. So, you start to put in a balance the positives and negatives, and then you discover that negatives are really heavy and that balance is unuseful.
Then you cry, and cry and cry. But then tears turn into silence. A horrible silence. And you pray to find some light in the tunnel because you just can imagine your life being change.
Well, I can't live without any single piece of my heart puzzle.
                                  ____________________________________________________

Entonces lloras, y lloras, y lloras.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is a series that has always given me a very good feeling. I remember when I was a child and  I cameback home from school, on the lunch time I always watched  this wonderful series of the 90s.
In my opinion, the most funny moment was always the beginnig, this catchy tune in which his grandmother was pointing at the camera with a finger saying "With your uncle and your aunt you will go to Bel-Air". What a shame that the grandmother did not appear too much because I'm sure it would have given much play.
Will Smith, the protagonist, was the typical hyperactive boy, impetuous, spontaneous and good hearted who was always exasperating everyone, but who I really liked in that series was Carlton Banks.
Carlton was the typical boy with good manners, repellent and always trying to do everything according to rules set by his own discipline, but in reality was a shy and insecure boy who needed the other's approval.
I'm attaching here some videos with which I died of laughter.
You guys also used to watch this series? Which character do you prefer? What was the most funny episode?

In a better world

The cinema in my village is very cool. Every Thursday, with your membership card you can go to see pieces of art which you couldn't watch in massive cinemas (yes those massive cinemas where everyone is willing to spend 10 euros for some popcorns and a coke).
I've been going with my man this last Thursdays and I've seen films which I felt in love with. But this time I'm going to talk about the last one.
In a better world is a Danish film that tells the story of a doctor, Anton, who spends most of his days in Africa, helping women who are cruelly killed by armed gangs that control the villages.
Meanwhile, in Denmark, his wife and children are alone. His eldest son, Elia, is mistreated by the rest of the students who are always laughing at him until the day that a new student comes to school with who strikes up a friendship that brings him back to hope.
His new friend, Christian, also comes from a very complicated situation because his mother just died of cancer and inside is filled with anger and sadness.
Their lives intersect and Christian is leading Elia to not very appropriate paths to avenge the injustices around them. All this situation make Anton to consider his situation and come back to Denmark with his wife and family. To Christian is also a release to return to trust his father, shortly after the destiny put on the brink of not seeing out of his loneliness.
In this film will shed a lot of feelings and when it gets to an end you feel a little pain inside the heart thinking that sometimes we get frustrated by nonsenses and not appreciate what we have.
In summary this is a great movie you have to see.
                           ______________________________________________________

Melancholia

On Saturday I saw a movie that left me with the heart in the fist. To be honest with you, no previous film had had that much influence on me as that story presented by Lars Von Trier.
For those who are still unfamiliar with this brilliant director, Lars Von Trier was the thinking mind who directed Dogville and after some years without knowing too much of him, he comes back hitting hard with his latest film.
Melancholia is basically a representation of feelings in images. Feelings which people never express but always determine the character of them.
We could describe it as an inner struggle against the canons and social standards which make us to act in a certain way when in reality is not what we carry inside.
It's a gasp against injustice and the eternal goal of happiness. On top of that, mixed many family values and the reality that we are alone in this world and that only the imagination can change what oppresses us inside.
 Dream, just dream.
                              ___________________________________________________

Vintage Market

This last Thursday when I was going to work, I got shock by something different in my way. All of a sudden The Moda Shopping Commercial Centre was full of stalls with beautiful hats, coats, jumpers, dresses, glasses, jewellery and loads of pretty things from the 20's.
I'm talking about the II edition of the Vintage Fair which is taking place these days in Madrid (From 3rd to 6th November).
When it was lunch time, I went straight there to have a look to feed my curiosity and I discovered some new shops and professionals behind it with huge charisma and desire to fight for their passion.
I didn't have that much time as I wanted BUT I did my best and I visited most of them.
In my tour I met some of the owners and they seemed very kind to me, and as promised, I'm posting some of the pictures I took of it.
That's an homenage to them. Good luck with your projects!
And for all of you, don't hesitate to visit the fair, there's a world of things!
                                  ___________________________________________________
